Review 2: Mangalore Pearl Restaurant

After quite a few claims by ‘Coastal’ and ‘Mangalorean’ restaurants in the city, this is one that actually lives up to its name!

Mangalore Pearl was a chance find and from there on, its the only Mangalorean place in Bangalore yet that I will recommend to anyone …

The ambiance isn’t the best in the world and it doesn’t sport any fancy decor but it is clean and nice and homely and that is all I am looking for!

Start with the Coccum Juice (Binda) and try to eat as much of the traditional food as you can … the Sheyyos and the Sannas and the Neer Dosas with the obvious Mutton curry. Also the Pork Bafat … that can’t be skipped! Sannas and Pork Bafat make the classic Mangy cuisine addictive 🙂

Overall it is a stunning place to go to food wise and you won’t regret it! I am not so much of a sea food freak so I haven’t really tried much of it though the prawns are quite nice … (see I get enough sea food at home … so I don’t bother with it outside!)

This place is very easy on your wallet and a meal for two with extra servings of coccum juice can easily be accommodated for under 350 rupees!
